Meet Wisdom: Building a Movement Across West Africaa

As we celebrate PeaceJam’s 30th Anniversary, we’re spotlighting the stories that define what this movement is all about: young people discovering their voice, stepping into leadership, and staying connected to other peacebuilders for life.
Meet Wisdom: Building a Movement Across West Africa
Wisdom first encountered PeaceJam and immediately knew: Ghana’s young people needed this. So he launched the country’s first PeaceJam chapter with 90 students.
It wasn’t easy. At one point, he nearly stepped away — until his students refused to let him:
“They came to my office every day for three weeks, saying, ‘We love PeaceJam — you cannot leave us!’ That’s when I realized how deeply it mattered.”
Those very students are now mentors, helping lead PeaceJam Ghana as it grows into a vibrant movement that has touched thousands of lives and inspired new PeaceJam chapters across West Africa.
“PeaceJam is a superpower — you feel it in the people whose lives it transforms.”
Wisdom’s leadership is paving the way for a true Pan-African PeaceJam network, reaching Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa, Uganda, Liberia, and beyond.
Your Support is What Makes Stories Like These Possible
Thousands of young people are discovering their own path to peace. Your support fuels, not just for one weekend, but for a lifetime.
As we look to the next 30 years, we’re building the infrastructure, leadership pipelines, and global support youth need to take the movement even further.
And we can only do it together.
Peace Takes All of Us!
